Very suboptimal testing conditions at the Roanoke, Virginia Prometric Test Center. I have been there three times this year and I have developed acute conjunctivitis probably atopic or toxic every time. My eyes develop a watery discharge with pain and swelling of the eyelids and decreased visual acuity. I have been unable to finish the exam I was taking two out three times. I have spent $4,100 in exam fees, wasted hundreds of hours of studying for the exams, and lost thousands of dollars because of not being able to work in my profession as a physician. I have called the Roanoke Prometric Test Center twice telling them about an environmental pollutant or pollutants that I assume are the result of contaminated permanent or disposable air filters. I should be compensated for this avoidable problem. The rating for this test site should be less than one 🌟 star. I would strongly recommend that any potential test candidate consider taking their exam somewhere else. Sincerely, Alan F. Knull, MD

However, the exams are stressful also the fact of being surrounded by many other test taker who are speaking at the same time, the 2 Gentlemen there are really friendly and smiling and that makes a big difference on us as test takers.

The staff are REALLY nice even though I’m a foreigner who does not speak fluent English. I took all 4 sections of the CPA exam in one shot. ( a section per day) Due to their hospitality, I passed all 4 on my first try. Sincerely recommend this test center.

I had my Step 3 medical board exam at this center.The lady who was in charge of accommodating applicants was very rude and neurotic. She made everyone more agitated than they already were.
She asked me to take out my hair clip as she told it was Swarovski crystals. I stated that it was only a regular hair clip however without even listening to my statement she interrupted me saying not to argue with her!
They were very unfriendly for interval checkings that they are obligated to do upon each exit and entrance to the exam area.
My previous experiences for other three USMLE exams were different.
I fully understand that they have to follow certain procedures however the way in which conduct makes the interaction unpleasant.

My wife had a very bad experience (especially with the staff) at this center (for taking the USMLE Step 3 exam) comparing to other exams at other centers that she had. Since I dropped her, I personally observed the rude way that staff was talking to my wife and also to an international student who wanted to take GRE test.
I do not recommend this center.
